About Us

We have more than 25 years of experience in professional mountaineering, guiding to the principal volcanoes of Mexico: Popocatépetl, Iztaccihuatl, Pico de Orizaba, Malintzin and Nevado de Toluca. In all these years, CUMBRE 7 counts more than 200 ascensions to the different summits of every volcano, with several different routes of ascent. We are very proud to be the school of choice for many companies and independent guides that operate in Mexico.

CUMBRE 7 has crossed borders taking commercial expeditions to different mountain ranges of the world, preparing and training many groups in the skills of glacier, snow and rock climbing, as well as mountain rescue.

Rubén García Fernández - Senior Guide

Active member of the Alpine Help of Mexico ( Socorro Alpino de Mexico) and the Director of the training center, Rubén García Fernández counts more than 25 years of professional and progressive sports experience. Instructor of mountain and rock climbing, including vertical walls of high risk, Rubén has successfully ascended more than 300 summits of the volcanoes of Mexico: Popocatépetl, Iztaccihuatl and the Pico de Orizaba. In addition, Rubén has accomplished several new, challenging routes in the volcanoes of Mexico..

Rubén has taken part in more than 20 international expeditions as a mountain guide or expedition chief in different mountain ranges of the world, such as: McKinley, in Alaska, Aconcagua, in Argentina, Ama Dablam, in Nepal and The White Mountain range, in Peru. He has also climbed different snow-capped mountains in Bolivia (The Real Mountain range) and in Ecuador (The Land of Volcanoes).

In his free time Rubén mountain bikes and rock climbs. He has been awarded gold, silver and bronze in national and international rock climbing competitions.

Rubén is recognized as a world-renowned guide in the area of the Mexican volcanoes Popocatepetl and Iztaccíhuatl and Pico de Orizaba, and he is also a professional athlete who prides himself on providing safe, quality services for his clients.
